When I am creating backlinks for local business should what anchor text should i be using.

Since google alters the results for location, Should I be anchoring as "pizza shop" or "city + pizza shop". Obviously I want a mixture of both, but should which should I focus on more.

Hi, i wouldnt really bother to much in trying to promote "pizza shop" unless you feel it really necessary. This is a generic term and will have way too many results by now to try and rank for it would be very tough - plus its a generic term like saying cars or houses. This would appear to google that any searcher looking for "pizza shop" is probably wanting to know its meaning and will show sites like wiki's etc first.

Im targeting a certain trade plus town. Lets say for arguments sake, im looking at plumber in wales. I want google to know that this is what i am and where i am serving. This is due to worldwide and local competition so you have to narrow it down unless you have a specific well known brand or are international.
G adwords key tool does help but if you search plumber wales or wales plumber, the search rates do not change!
    My issue is plural too!
ie: plumber wales, plumbers wales, plumbers in wales, plumber in wales, wales plumber and wales plumbers are just a few!!!

Im not a plumber in wales but i hope this helps you out bud.

    cheers, martin

You should vary the anchor text greatly. Dozens...possibly hundreds of words should be used. You want to be number 1 for as many possible. Look at the highest volume first.
