I would like to play a prank on one of my friends, and backdate a picture of the soup bowl he has made - so he think that someone else has made that exact soupbowl before 2001. How can I do this - or get in touch with people who can do this?

Post that soup bowl picture here and let the creativity juices flow through our artistic members

Use the sepia filter in photoshop?

It is not the picture I would like to look old, but the date besides the picture... That he sees a blog/article or picture from before 2001, with a picture of a soup bowl that looks like his...

Definitely photoshop. Post it here dude, let the talented members of BHW do their thing.

It was not the picture I want to change - but the date, so it looks like there has been a design just like his - when he was a kid... Preferable on a blog or in an article from 2001...

It's going to cost a little fortune to hire someone to make a soup bowl that looks like his and take a snap of the bowl that has vintage items nearby and fake a blog post with the older date.

I have the picture of the soup bowl..

That is no problem.. There is no need to have vintage items nearby

I've not touched 3D studio max and Maya for a while. Your best bet would be to hire a 3d animator to render a soup bowl like that and export it in .png and then use photoshop to merge that bowl into an older pic.

OK, but it is not the picture I would like to do anything with, but the date of when it is posted. I would like to make it look like it is posted in a blog/article or forum before 2001... Do you know where I can find someone who can do this? Which kind of knowledge do he need to have?

It's really easy to fake a blog post to make it look like it's buried deep in the interwebs. Even I can do that but it's impossible to make google to show that date as indexed and the same goes for wayback machine.

Is it possible to hide it from Google indexing/wawyback machine, so it will not be indexed with any date?

Here you go dude. I wasn't sure it was a soup bowl, until you specifically said so, so I added some alphabet soup to remove any further doubt.
