Back link question

For this example let's just say you're only going to build 20 links. All will be contextual and using unique/quality content. From high DA sites.

Would you rather:

A. Build 10 tier 1 links and build 10 tier 2 to strengthen them(not sure how much it would help PA)

B. Build 20 tier 1 links (PA would be zero for sure)

Would it be better to have 10 fewer links but 10 stronger via the tier 2's?
If say in a month you wanted to build 10 more new links, which would you choose:
Tier 3
Tier 2
Tier 1

Seems like the tiered is the way to go. Each link gets strengthen and are aged compared to fresh tier 1 all the time.

IMO these days you don't need to worry about Tier much...just do decent Tier 1, PBN is best, rest all random stuff would be good enough.

I just need to put backlinks to HQ sites (PR8-9). I think it's an effective way.

It would be better to have less links with a strong second tier. PR is still the #1 ranking factor, despite what wannabe SEO's say. PR still exists, you just can't see the updated numbers for PR anymore.

I was referring to no spam/mass tiered back linking like GSA. Only quality/unique manually created links. If the links were parasites then yes you could mass backlink with GSA.

I agree with both points. G never said PR has been removed from algorithm, only that they don't make updates public. Just because something isn't made public doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just like their other 200 ranking factors that aren't public.

Think I will go with the tiered method as I see less(more powerful) links the better choice.
