I know it's like 3 pages late and everything but I just want to point out that I don't use duplicate content.

What I basicaly said in the report was that if you were piss broke and lazy as hell you COULD use duplicate content.

HOWEVER - using duplicate content will get you ranked, but only for a few days tops, you'll drop again like a rock almost immediately.

And no, I don't always 'close the wheel' so to speak. So it doesn't always go full circle... I've experimented with both but I haven't noticed much of a difference and google hasn't 'caught on'.

For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, I'm the author of the LinkWheel method, lol.

We change up where the links go on a regular basis.

sorry I missed this earlier....I went to the sales page for that service...I dont know if it will work or not. I was not very impressed with the sales page, but the only way to know for sure is to test it out.

As the normal process for me.I'm currently doing that type of linkwheel.It's effective and hopefully to other as well.
 
I have just implemented a similar linkwheel to the original in the diagram, but with 32 spokes. I have used different web 2.0 sites. The niche has modest competition. 20,000 searches per month for the keyword. I will post the results on this thread, if any.

P.S. I made good original content for wach web 2.0 property. Total time taken - 12 hours.
 
Regarding the description in the upper right hand corner, does that mean each web 2.0 property will have 4 outbound links?

1 in the body going to your main money site
and 3 in the resources section? (1 going to a sub-money site, and 2 going to other web 2.0 properties?)

JVmarket, if you are using something like SEnuke to submit your articles to social networking sites and article directories, may I ask how you go about only having each article link to a limited number of other articles? Do you submit one at a time and manually change the link each time? Or do you automate this somehow?
 
we use senuke where we can and the rest is done manually. depending on the web 2.0 property you might be able to use senuke others will have to be done manually. We have employees that do the hard work for us.

Senuke has a feature that will add random links to the bottom of the submission...this feature will work for most properties.

depends on the property...usually 4 two in the body and 2 in the resource box

I started trying to make a link wheel today and I keep running into the same issue with my key word...I'm using a long tail keyword to find lower competition..I'm also new to everything I'm trying to do here..... when I try to search for competition (with the keyword in quotes) I get a low number like 3,800..I even re-check it a couple times to make sure..then if I try to click to the 2nd page on google all of a sudden it says the competition is 1 million+ ..and from then on out it always says that when I search...I can't figure out why it is doing that?????..it has happened to two of my words now

Any help appreciated..I'm so confused..is there a maximum number of words you can use in a keyword? mine is 6 words (5 if you exclude the word "to")
 
If that's really whats going on in my head i'm smarter than i thought =p
 
Have you placed your keyword in the google adwords tool - on exact mode? I have never seen a 6 word long tail get a marketable amount of traffic.

I would imagine you could hit a 6 word long tail just on keyword optimisation, without the need of a linkwheel. Unless your keyword is "how do i have better sex" or something like that.

Linkwheels can work for medium competition niches. If you go for a shorter keyword, the long tails tend to follow on their own.
 
Well I use wordtracker and adwords...they usually differ in results tho...I guess I could be wrong about wordtracker tho...say if it says the word has 60 searches..that is per day correct or is that per month like adwords is?? I was told it's per day so that could be a problem too.

For the keyword I'm using adwords says it's searched 11 times a day..but wordtracker says 60 times a day.

So for a keyword should I stick with 3-4 word keywords?? The reason I went with such a long one is the field I'm doing right now is highly competitive so I have no chance really if I stick to 1-2 word ones while trying to do this without spending any money...


What do you mean "hit it with keyword optimization"? Since I'm new to all of this..I'm trying to write my copy correctly with keywords but I'm really not sure if I'm doing it correctly.

By keyword optimisation, I mean having that keyword appear in the right places on your site, mainly the title / meta description.

All you can go on with the traffic is what these estimation services tell you. Only you can decide whether to go for it or not, as these tools are notoriously inaccurate. If it's true that this is a special case long tail keyword, and it does indeed have a marketable amount of traffic, then it may be worth making a small linkwheel around it. It won't take too long. Give it a try.
 
After searching this thread I can't find what a "content package" is.

Is this just a bluk order of articles from a few different writers, or is it more than that?

Sorry if I missed it.
 
When I do a linkwheel, I make all the content I'm going to use first. Just a bunch of around 15 spun / altered articles, 3-4 paras each. This is what the term content package means to me, but others mey prefer to go the extra mile and pay freelancers to get that extra bit of quality.
 
keyword research demands a bit of common sense. as a "General" rule I dont like to use keyword phrases that are more than 3 or 4 words but on occasion I will use longer if it makes sense and there is enough traffic from it to justify the expense.

Content package (aka seed article) is a spinnable seed article that can be used to generate multiple unique articles.

We use ours for many uses...submission to web 2.0 properties, bookmarking sites and to different feeder blogs.

If I take 2 articles generated for one of our "content packages" and put them side by side you would not be able to tell they came from the same seed article.

We've submitted multiple articles to ezinearticles from the same seed article and had them all approved....Great system :)
