Back Link Diagram Tutorial

there is no hard fast rule how the links need to go. each of our wheels link differently. what you need to do is map out your strategy then try it out.

Throughout this thread I've tried to give pointers on what we do, it's changed a little bit from when I first started the thread and it will continue to change.

The more you actually do this the more you will learn....the concept starts to make a lot more sense.

Jv,

Quick question re the autoblog element - this is on the same domain as the 'main site' and keyword pages - how do you site this ie:

Autoblog in a subdomain ie subdomain.domain.com with the main site and keyword pages sited at domain.com

Autoblog sited in a folder off the main domain ie domain.com/autoblog-folder - again with the main site and keyword pages at domain.com

or is it all under one WP install at domain.com?

This is a fantastic thread, many thanks for sharing your knowledge.

depends....most of the time we have a mini-site with 5-10 pages then we put the blog in a folder.

we dont use subdomains as a general rule.

I may have missed this JVMarket, but from what you have said, you promote your Web 2.0 properties through the use of bookmarking. Do you not use any other form of backlinking such as blog commenting or forum profiles?

I have never really got into social bookmarks. I run a good number of successful link-architectures which have been supported by high PR comment spam alone.

But from reading around, it looks like both approaches are effective. I get the impression that comment spam will get you quicker results - but it is much more risky. Social bookmarks, being weaker in terms of link juice and very often nofollow, seem like a more stable, google friendly promotion conduit.

the more places you can get links from the better...some comment spam some social bookmarks some web 2.0 ect......

it would make sense to google that links started coming in from different places.

just my 2 cents

Can someone help out a fellow noob to this.

So when you create your backlink wheels,

what sites do you use to link back to your money site.
So far I have on my list are:

ezine article
squidoo lense

what other sites out there that I can utilize ?

I am just learning about auto blogs, so my knowledge is very limited. With that said, could you explain in some detail how your autoblog process works? How does it feed into your other blog pages? Rss feeds? Is it set up as basically another "page" to your site? What program (s) are you using to create and operate it. I hope these questions are not to noobish.

I also wanted to say that this thread has been the most eye opening and educational thread I have [personally] read. I think that says quite a bit, because BHW is an amazing place!

Thanks for everything!

At some point all the article sites and web 2.0 properties link to the money site

Do any of you guys cover your tracks by inserting links to "trusted" sites mixed in with the other links?

I mean...if you were building a blog farm driving link juice to your "Mountain Bike" website, would you insert links to manufacturer websites like "Trek" or "Mongoose" or whatever?

I was thinking that if any of your blog elements just linked to the one or two sites in your chart it would be easy to see a pattern. Linking to "authority sites" in your niche might see more natural.

Of course, this would dillute the link juice going to YOUR links on any page that contained links to the authority site...so maybe it wouldn't make sense? Or maybe you would link out to other sites every third post?

Michigan Maniac, I've often thought about this too. It would seem to make a lot of sense to do it this way if you're trying to look natural. Although I have had success without adding trusted links, I'm going to give it a try to see what happens.

Regarding the link juice issue, most web 2.0 properties have lots of forced outbound links anyway. There are only a few properties out there that will give you anything above 25% of the juice you put into them.

That said, Google seems totally ignorant of some blatant attempts at manipulation. One of my link architectures had identical urls, anchors and titles across the board, with no attampts at looking natural, and it was successful.

Back to the auto blog, How are you feeding it to your main and sub pages? Also, what content are you feeding? If the content is your own, is the content just spun from your content package? I have set up an auto blog behind my main page, but I'm really not sure what to do with it.

Thanks!!!

Doing that may futureproof you if big G decideds to crackdown on linkwheels..

It is a good idea..

Hey there,

This thread is a wealth of information. I have decided to give this a shot.. I would really appreciate if the OP could clarify a few things which might be obvious to others..

I would want to do a simple wheel first but correctly and move on from there..

If you can look at my diagram.

mylinkwheel.png

I understand how they connect and all...
What I am wondering is the promotion of the web 2.0 properties.
If I am not mistaken, the web 2 properties only have a single spun article each...

-I could social bookmark them but to a limited extent.. Anysuggestions on the quantity of social bookmarking on each web2.0 properties... is outsourcing better or use something like bookmarking demon?

-Another way of promotion would be article marketing each web.2 property.

So.. I can promote each web2 property via social bookmarking, article marketing and do-follow commenting...
Is there a possibility that a web2 property outranks the main site if it becomes overlybacklinked?

- Do we have to do RSS submission ?any elaboration

-I also dint get the pinging part.. I understand Pinging from the main site to pinging services .. is there any more to it than that...

-Is this all to it? is there something more I am missing out?
