Since the Axie marketplace has slowed down to a crawl (not surprising since the entire crypto market did at the EOY) I’ve put this on pause. I like flipping when the market is going flat, like this there’s probably still deals to find but it’s just not worth the bother.
I don’t think I opened the game client after that first day but still made a couple of thousand USD just buying and selling. There are people doing that on a much bigger scale than I was. There’s people buying them before they ever show on the marketplace to users and you’ll notice a chunk of them being banned constantly as someone launders stolen ones.
There’s still money to be made there though. Even without any idea of the game or what players want, just comparing the NFT traits to recent sale prices and leave yourself a markup. Loads of people list stuff for a quick sale or don’t really know how good something actually is.
Over a couple of wallets I had a few go at small losses but plenty went for $xxx profits within a few hours.
I got more interested in automating aspects of OpenSea just because there was more volume there but there’s a lot less competition on Axie. I’ll be back to it if the market picks back up.
