So I am confused, I just launched my site recently (10 days ago) and I'm getting readings all across the board here

    Awstats - 21 visits today
    Analytics - 58 visits today
    Adsense - 158 visits today

At this moment, I am not sure which to go by, I mean general consensus is that I get my site views up regardless, but I am still learning. I would like to know which is the accurate one to view, so I can know what is working and what isn't. Any thoughts?

Think it's true, because Awstats maybe is Unique visitor, and Analytics is visitor that day, and adsense is page view (mean it will be count when page load where adsense shown)

Well AwStats are known As server stats. most of the time they are Immediate or got updated after every 3 hrs. you need to check when they got updated. And Awstat calculate Each and every hit which is made to the server in form of any request.

While Analytics got updated properly after 24 hrs. and it always give you only the stats of actual Visitors. And analytics only count the visitor once its Javascript is loaded properly. so it really matters where you placed your Code Whether in the Head or just before the end of body Tag. I use to place it before end of Body tag so it does not interfere with the loadtime of my site. And yes it will make analytics count much lesser stats.

While Adsense Counte PageViews. I.e how many times your ads ben Displayed.

So let me explain you with the Example.

For example 2 Visitor Come to your site ( 1 bot , 1 Visitor)

Awstat count them as 2. because its a server stat so count each and everything.
While in analytics it will be displayed as 1. because analytics only provide you the information about the visitors .

and in adsense it might be 3~4 , Depending on how many times users is able to watch your Ads (Pageviews)

thanks for reading all the details. hopefully it helps. Sorry if you find any grammatical mistakes as english is not my first language ;)

Ok, that kind of makes sense..

From what I can tell based on what you have told me..

Ad sense is counting the page views (times ad is displayed)
Analytics says 58 Visits - 50 Unique Visitors (how many people visited)

So those two are cleared up, though I am still confused on awstats

All of these are my results from the 24th, so I am assuming any 3 hour update should be done by now

    24 Oct 2011

    Number of visits - 21
    Pages - 44
    Hits - 380
    Usage - 3.30 MB

All of these numbers on Awstats are Significantly lower than usual.
    On the 23rd they were

    23 Oct 2011

    Number of visits - 101
    Pages - 1,321
    Hits - 3,904
    Usage - 31.71 MB

well like i said it is the server configurations about the Stats update. if you own the dedicated server then just edit the Setting from The WHM. if you are using a shared host. then i always suggest you to use analytics . because in that case you never know whether the stats got updated or not.

As there is a Default setting in the Server that whenever there is a load on the server Don't process the stats

Awstats usually counts all the rubbish as visitors - SE bots, pings, etc.
Analytics is the most precise to my opinion, but it doesn't count people with javascript disabled and ad-cutters, which is usually quite a small %tage if you're not in tech or gadget oriented niche
Adsense counts page loads and reloads, doesn't matter how many banner codes you have per page.
