Avoiding Tax - Offshore Accounts?

What about creating an overseas company that owns the rights the brand name of your American company. Then you pay a use fee and percentage of the profits? I think this is what software companies and pharma companies do.

get a trusted accountant, they are worth every penny ;)

Two Doctors, specialist, not married, pay less taxes than you're paying.
Even if they're making 500,000$ of combined salaries.
Trust me, I have one of the best accountant arround. Taxes can become in your favor, you can even put taxes as a lost if the accountant know what he's doing....Thats a joke. You should also get a lawyer, so if you're starting to have problems, they can stop the leaking right there before IRS have something against you.

You should do the same instead of trying to save 4k now and then.

The trick is in getting someone to own the assets/business who lives in a tax haven. If its not in your name then there is no tax due. Its good if you have buddies who live in the carribean and have citizenship.

Yea, thats what they do. Its called income shifting. You shift the net income to a foreign holding company that owns intellectual property and you pay that company your net income. However, if you are US citizen and own that holding company then you are still screwed because of controlled foreign corporation rules. That's why I say, you have to have your carribean buddy own the foreign company so he pays no tax for you.

Here is my word of advice, as a person that has had some issues with the IRS...
If you are an American citizen, do not try and "hide" your money, you need to pay what the IRS is "owed". You may think you can get away with it however sooner or later they will get your butt. You see we are under the Obama era right now and you are supposed to work for 6 months out of the year to pay your government so that they can waste your money on stuff we don't need. If you do not pay them what they are "owed" they can/will show up at your house with no notification whatsoever and take anything you have of value and through liens on anything they can't take right away. Then they may or may not throw your butt in federal prison for a while after they take everything from you. Oh and because of "penilties" and "fee's" that they have a "right" to charge... you will end up owing double of what you would have paid in had you just done your taxes correctly.

Right. The trick is to NOT do tax evasion. You have to focus on tax avoidance. The key is structuring the income BEFORE its earned. If you've already made the money then you probably have to pay taxes on it. If you have not made the money then you can structure your business to avoid accruing a tax liability. The easiest method I know is income shift to foreign company that's not owned by yourself! It has to be owned by tax haven citizen. The US cannot tax citizens which are not US citizens.

There is 1 way if you are an American to pay no tax... Have 500k in the bank renounce your citizenship, move to a country that does not take your hard earned money errr tax you

Its next to impossible to renounce citizenship. Only like 1,000 people renounce citizenship each year. Also if you have significant assets then its 10x more difficult.

You have to have another citizenship first in order to give it up. Its actually 1400 per year now,a few years ago it was only 300.
