Avoid Music Copyright Infringements?

Hey BHW,

I recently made a decent lyric video for the song "Hello" by Adele. I uploaded it to YouTube with it being set to "unlisted" and YouTube automatically detected copyright and blocked the video across all countries.

Is there anything I could do to the audio to make it not be detected by YouTube? I understand it would always be in danger of the producers finding it themselves, but right now I just need to bypass YouTube.

Any information is appreciated!

Youtube is searching automatically in their db.
To bypass them you have to add some random noise in the song + distort the frequency. You can also test with high frequency which we can't hear ( song will be the same ) and see if that will bypass their automatically checks.

Are you talking about like duplicating the audio file in Audacity and changing frequency on 1 of the 2 clips, then exporting them as one file?

I think it should work I've came across similar music video or full albums where the sound was kind of distorted

That will work but split test on a dummy account you don't care about.

Yes, you can use any software. I did some tests with simple programming and added new frequencies + random noise and that kept the video ok.
If your videos will get reported... that's another story, they manually review the reported ones.

It's automatic, like Shazam. As a professional musician, personally, I hate it when people don't want to pay for music. I am, however, very mad at labels trying to suck all revenue away from the actual hard working creators. That said, if you speed up or slow down the video by an exact % prior to uploading, you can use YT's speed function to playback the video at the correct speed and have your audio undetected. It worked last week (November 2015).
