avatar problems?

I think I will change my avatar to the default on purpose.

Nice to know that... I was wondering why wasn't able to use my own avatar. :-)
 
I wonder if my ability to use custom avatar will ever work again. It's just ridiculous how that type of error could occur, I've been in hundreds of forums and never seen anything like this.

You should switch it back to the "custom" avatar like mine (to show the error), in fact, everyone should. That way it will start to show how many members it is problem for.

Then eventually get fixed....

Has anyone found a workaround for being able to show custom avatar. It doesn't work for either url or direct upload.
 
yep.. im still having the same problems as well.

I've contacted two mods about this including Pofecker.

If you can see my avatar in this post then it's fixed.

'Vbullsh!#' means it's not :)

Seems to be a standing problem for 1/2 a year now. I was starting to wonder at what point I could edit my avatar. I thought at first it would be at 50 posts. Then today when I passed 100 I knew something was wrong. Searching I ended up here.

It's a small thing, but having a unique identity does mean a little something in a community. Be nice to see some love from the mods to get this fixed.

I have done that, but there is simply no option at all to upload an avatar. I have gone into the edit avatar section (and everywhere else in UserCP), the only form field at the bottom is the subscribe box.

I have read about the issues you are referring to and thought I would be spared, but without an option to even upload, I just can't even try. :confused:

I use FF. So I tried IE, and the same deal (only the formatting of all the avatars on the edit page become messed up.. but hey, that's what to expect from IE)

Maybe they just disabled it all together for any new users since the bug first appeared last year.
 
I'm seeing weird problems with this too... I uploaded an avatar, and the forum software shows it to me in the CP, but it doesn't appear in posts...

Be thankful you even see the option! :) I don't even get to produce an error like you do because I got no upload avatar option available at all!

I'm stuck using one of these lame defaults like the rest of the newbies.
 
I have to come back here to give props to the mod in this thread who took the time to PM me and offer to put up my avatar manually.

He also said he will get tech to look into why the option for me to upload is not appearing.

For my first run in with BHW support, I have to give a gold star for addressing my own personal issue with uploading.

I hope the rest of you get your issue sorted asap.

Now I got my proper image. :)
 
Ok... now I really do feel like a newbie. Haven't felt that way in a long time.

I was wondering why I had no option to edit my signature, so I decide to start looking through the FAQ. I find this on the matter of both uploading your avatar and editing your signature:

In order to upload a custom avatar, you must be a member of the forum for at least 30 days and have at least 50 quality posts.

So the fact is, I haven't been here for 30 days yet. :) I guess I am just really ahead of the curve on forum participation. So in a few weeks I will finally have these options. Just have to wait for it.

At least I gave mod support the opportunity to shine! ;)
