Hi,

anybody using the Avada Wordpress Theme? I use it for 3 weeks now and lost some rankings. Sure, I switched from Joomla to Wordpress, wich could be the cause. But I was wondering why google always shows me different descriptions then I type in.

I use Yoast SEO. I just checked the source code of my page and I´ve seen that Avada adds meta fields like title, site name, description. As description it takes about 50-70 words from the blogpost. And google somehow chose the description and title of Avada instead of Yoast. Anybody here got this as well and know how to remove it?

I disabled Yoast but the meta fields where still there, so it is definately a Avada problem. I also got this on another site I use Avada on.

Please no discussion about that Avada is a shitty theme etc. See the red parts are double meta and google uses them instead of yoast.

Nevermind, there is an option in avada theme to turn it off.

Wanted to write that

I searched the Avada options for 1 hour yesterday but never thought that it would be named "Open Graph Meta Tags". Prabably because English is not my main language. I expected something with SEO in it. They told me on Themeforest to turn that option off.

From my WP experience - basically when u are running any more or less complicated theme (Avada, some bulky Divi layouts, block builders) - you may encounter troubles with SEO plugins. Yoast is poorly optimized for those (yet very good for minimalistic ones), try switching to All in one SEO pack (not sure if it gonna work), or switching to different theme (avada sucks big imho).
