Automotive site possibilities

Hey guys,

I'm considering setting up some form of automotive website, and using ads as it's main source of income. I was thinking something along the lines of a car review site. Easy to write content, as I'm a huge car nut. Not sure whether it would be possible to compete with other car review sites? Do you guys think I should look into "car reviews" and find a slightly smaller related niche?

Any tips would be gladly accepted

car reviews would require alot of car details.. dont know where you would be generating traffic from

i debated starting a car site, but more from a vanity point of view.
