Automating in linux?

How do you automate your processes in linux?

I mean in windows I could easly use one of thoses programs that record mouse movement and etc actions and replay a 1000 times but I havent found a program like that in linux,

I'm for sure not the only BHW member in ubuntu, what has worked for you guys?

What are you trying to automate?

*nix is king of automation if you are using the command line.
