I've built 5 web2.0s to my main site and am starting to think about the next stage. Is it wise to use software such as gsa or senuke on tier 2?

I would build tier 2 with as much quality as possible, then lower the quality and increase quantity for tier 3.

The general rule is that the more distance between your site and the high volume spam, the safer it is.

Hmmm ok, looks like I got a bit more work left then! Can you recommend a good ratio of tier1 to tier 2 sites?

I'd keep tier 2 in the hundreds, and tier 3 as many as possible. But to be honest, you need to experiment yourself!!

Tier 2 in the hundreds? There's no way I can do that manually so it's gonna have to be a software solution tbh.

I'll build up to around 10 manual tier 1s, then use software to create 10-20 tier 2s for each tier 1.

Doing that manually would be insane

You will need to test things out yourself, try giving 5 tier 2s to each tier1, which means, build 25 tier 2s for your 5 tier 1s for now. You may use manually spun content and do manual submissions for tier2. You can then do automated stuff on tier 3
