Automated Advertisements on Skype

So I just got an interesting call on Skype from someone I didn't recognize and I answered it and then an automated message played. The message was like a warning that my computer was all messed up with viruses and that I NEEDED to go to this website and download their software.

Maybe it's just me, but that's never happened before and I find it quite unique. I didn't know people were advertising on Skype like that and frankly didn't even know you could.

With automated calls like that they have to be making a killing, but there's probably some crazy software out there that does this.

Does anyone here do Skype advertising like that? And if I just "outed your method" then take me off your list and I promise it won't happen again

its interesting but i don't thing it will have a good conversion rate (with this method) , i mean who gonna believe a stranger that said my laptop is full of virus much better to use this for dating offers
