Autoblogs= $$$

If you have an older computer with a newer hardrive 25gb or bigger you could set up a webserver with Linux and never have to pay for webhosting again. But you would have to ask your internet provider if you can get a static ip address.

I've used auto blogs before (nothing more then testing purposes though). I'll have to look at making some revenue from them

I have an extra feature for WP VideoTube if you guys want to use it. I was looking for a website that provides direct download links for YouTube videos, but none of the sites seem to support the embed URL for the vids as {video_url} provides in the WP VideoTube template. So I decided to make my own script, which turned into a site, since GoDaddy is having a sale on .info domains.

Code:
http://downtube.info

You basicly just add this to the WP VideoTube template:

Code:
<a href="http://downtube.info/?u={video_url}">Download This Video</a>

It also works with the {permalink} tag on WP-O-Matic templates if you're ripping YouTube RSS feeds. However I recommend using WP VideoTube over WPOM for YouTube.

I just found an easy way to install wordpress blogs. Im sure a lot of people already know about it, but just in case I was searching google and I saw that you can install wordpress using fantastico. Just search install wordpress with fantastico in google and you'll find a guide. Basically its a one click install so look for a host with fantastico (no using ftp to upload files or anything like that) if you want to do something like this.

I've been following this thread for some time, set up a blog, installed the plug-ins, and today made my first online profit *ever*. It's only a few nickels worth of adsense, but it's a start! And this is for a pretty obscure niche, with my site on page 8 of Google for my keyword.

I'm going to do a little more optimization on this blog, then let it sit and start another one. For the next niche, I think I'm going to pick a much more popular category (so that I'll have plenty of source material) and focus in on a few low-competition keywords within that category (so that my blog will be well-positioned).

If I find any particularly useful plug-ins, I'll be glad to mention them. One person asked about automatically adding tags in the posts -- for this, wp-autotagger seems to get the job done on the latest wordpress installation. I don't know if it's a wise move or not, but I've seen several prominent blogs using the wp tags to technorati plug-in to convert wp tags to technorati tags on the fly. So I added that as well.

Hope those help, I'm off to continue experimenting!

Thanks.

I just tried UAW and I'm a bit disappointed. The categories I added were "Digital Cameras" and "Camera Lenses" on one of my blogs and it posted articles about massage chairs. On another I had "Computer Technology" and I got articles on model trains. Laff.

maybe you can test out using more precise/narrow terms.
Some of the articles I get from UAW are entirely irrelevant to my categories and blogs too :) I just delete those useless ones. But overall , its good, 8 out of 10 articles are relevant to the topic

I have never tried autoblogs before, I think a good profit can be made from it though.. thanks for sharing helpful info..

Help someone problem with 000webhost please help me check out how to change perms with their hosting they have ftp and it's free.

Sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with this.

Go into your 000webhost account. (See attached images chmod01.jpg and chmod02.jpg)

1) Go Select the folder or the file in your "File Manager" inside the cpanel area.(see chmod02.jpg)

2) At the top right hand corner, there is a button called "Chmod". Click on that and you can change the file OR folder permissions accordingly (see chmod02.jpg) either by number or you can check the permission boxes.

Hope this helps ya :)

Cheerio :)

Is it OK if you have an autoblog to also post original content ? would it help?

I've setup a testautoblog and I tried out UAW, but I get this error:
Sorry, there was a problem submitting the test article for dir_id 12723 to http://xxx/wp-content/plugins/unique_articles/add_article.php: Error message: 404 Not Found Not Found The requested URL /plugins/wordpress/add_art.txt was not found on this server. Apache Server at http://www.uniquearticlewizard.com Port 80

Any idea ?

Allright, I've set up autoblog too using caffeinated content: http://aboutbodywrap.com/
I've also submitted it to digg, stumbleupon, propeller and delicious. Now well see what happens...

thanks somuch mate appreciate it buddy. darn i think i used the wrong topic does UAW suppl articles on paper quilling? because it's my aunt's hobby.

Might be able to test this by using a more generic keyword, i.e. hobby or hobbies and see if such articles show up? :)

UAW is such that if you have a very specific niche, that such articles may not be available or that there are very few of them.

I think shylesson (the original thread starter for this thread) mentioned going to uberarticles dot com to look at the titles and keywords and try using those in your UAW control panel inside WP.

If you like, there is a "Thanks" button on the lower right hand corner on each post that you can click and use :) :) :)

Cheerio :)

I have been using the Uniqueifier plugin and Google doesn't seem to mind it at all. The site was indexed in no time and I have over 30 pages indexed within 10 days of launch. One thing that I have noticed though is that Google's description of each sub-page is in numbers rather than descriptive words...so it is using the scrambled source code that the plugin creates. Has anyone else experienced this? When you view the page it looks normal though.

On another note, does anyone have any links to those twitter widgets? I was thinking of trying them out for traffic but I know nothing about Twitter...thanks!

is there any auto content generator that can post german articles?

I think you can pull German Yahoo Answers using the CC plugin...

are you all just setting up one auto-blog for each domain name, or are you setting up several subdomains too ?

eg:

fred.mydomain.com
bill.mydomain.com
harry.mydomain.com

If the question was directed at me, I just created mydomain.com. I am not a big fan of subdomains on my own sites. Some speak highly of it but I have had all my subdomains wiped out at the same time more than once so I just go with separate domain names. I might try one site with multiple subs later but that would mainly be for testing purposes.

Let me ask all of you this;

Do you have a single hosting account using addon domains for each new website/blog? or are you using a reseller account, starting a new account for each new site/blog you build?

What is the reason for your choice?

I have a couple hosting accounts but mainly I just register a domain name, host it at HostGator via the addon domain feature, Install WordPress with Fantastico and load up the site with content etc. I keep everything as cheap as possible. I might get an account with more IPs eventually but I haven't had any issues yet.

Thats exactly what I do, I have 20 domains on the same hosting account. Just wondered if that was an issue with adsense, if you had 20 blogs on the same hosting account.
