Does anyone have any suggestions for an autoblogger using joomla?
 
Thanks again for putting up such a great thread, shylesson. And thanks also for all the questions you've taken the time to answer over the course of the thing. Myself, I've been in a terrible rut the past few months just suffering from info overload, and as we all know, the WORST thing you can do is sit and contemplate and not actually do anything. I've decided I'm going to dive into the autoblog gig for now and see what happens. This post is gonna be one hell of a good kick in the pants!

thanks for you great post, looks pretty interesting. I know this is a pretty old thread but I gave it a try so my first autoblog is now online and running for a few days.

I created a blog about golf and therein created 39 keyword rich categories. Although I'd guess other categories would match better, I get ALL the posts I got so far (seven for now), in the very same Category called "Golf Lessons".

I did not notice somebody spoke about that problem before here so if somebody did I'm sorry.

My question is: Am I doing something wrong so all the post HAVE to end up in that caategory (maybe because I created it as first?), or is it maybe even just happenstance.

Noone has a clue?

It's already 13 posts now and they are all in the same category... this doesn't look very "human".

I also thought about moving new posts automatically to a random category by a cronjob, but this wouldn't make much sense to the categories any more so hi screwd the thought.

Any ideas? :/
 
Advice to everyone struggling is to keep exerimenting and trying.

My MU autoblog at http://womensshoeparadise.com took about 25 minutes to make and it's making about $20.00 a day. By far my most successful autoblog. The key is to keep trying and to experiment. Some times blogs will make nothing and others will make a lot.

I just recreated this blog a few days ago and is already pulling $20.00 a day. It's an "art" that IMO can be learned. But 80% of learning process cannot be taught if you know what I mean. Basically this means you need to keep trying until you get it right.

Thanks Rob , is it more beneficial to use canonical domains instead of sub directory?

Which one is better www.buy.com/womens-shoes/ or womens-shoes.buy.com ?

Are the canonical domains automatically generated? What plugins do you use if you don't mind :).

Subdomains by far. Much quicker in indexing and ranking. I still think the SE's treat subdomains like seperate mini sites which they then see as new content sites on the same subject.

Check out the search box in the right side panel of my site I posted in my last post. It creates a new subdomain blog and pulls a new feed pull based on what the user entered.

This is the type of autoblog I am having with success now. The root (womensshoeparadise.com) is a true standalone autoblog but the subdomains are simply newly created blogs with static content in them. I am finding that this looks more natural to SE's cause many users that register new blogs post a few posts and give up.

I am still ony my category issue ... as I see you are heaving multiple categories with content filled. Do you use UAW also? And if so, what may I be missing?

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks so far!

I run my business in launch and leave mode meaning I don't care about deindexing. With that said, I have yet to experience a mass deindexing.

Do a site search in google for blogslammer.net . This would be a huge target cause not only is it a huge autoblog site, it's a demo site for my software that creates them. :)

Basically, the idea is to trick SE's to thinking it's a user community. That is what subdomains do.

So does it mean we should not use blogslammer cause it leaves footprint ?
 
i tried doing autoblogs for a while and had some good results. you just have to let them sit for a few months and you will eventually start seeing results. a good wp plugin to look into is web traffic genius - i am not affiliated with them other than the fact that i use it on my auto blogs. its a great way to get automatic backlinks via rss.
