    One Big Question I have about Auto Blog Posting ....
    I want to use a theme with "Post Thumbnail" also called "Featured Image" . But most of the themes have option to give url of image to show as "post thumbnail" while posting the individual post ... but we can't do that with autoblog post ......
    so with auto blogging how we can set post thumbnail automatically from the first image from the post ?

    Get a theme which does this, mostly themes with timthumb.php and other inbuilt fuctions work good.

    Get a theme from Theme-junkie.com or woothemes.com, Great for blogs.

    As above, some themes are setup to automatically grab the first image from within the post and use it as the featured image.

    I had also been looking for a proper way to do it with any theme but am yet to find one.

    you can use custom fields

    autobloging softwares can add your own custom fields to post, and the theme can show that fiels as a featured image or thumbnail

    have to read the manual for the theme becouse its different for every themes

    can you help me to do that ?
    in index page this is the code which gets and displays the thumbnail...
    <?php
    $def = get_template_directory_uri() . '/images/thumbnail.jpg';
    $img = padd_theme_get_thumbnail('paddimage',$def,PADD_HOME_THUMB_W,PADD_HOME_THUMB_H);

    ?>

    any way to change this to get and display first image from post ..?

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/auto-post-thumbnail/

    "Auto post thumbnail is a plugin to generate post thumbnail from first image in post or any custom post type. If the first image doesn't work it will automatically search for the next one and so on until the post thumbnail is inserted."

    The latest version of CyberSEO does it easily.

    Simple enable the "Post thumbnail->Generate from first post image" option and the plugin will automatically generate post thumbnails from the first image of the syndicating post. The number and sizes (widths/heights) of thumbnails will be generated according to the active magazine-style theme.

    The function is fully automatic. Fire and forget.

    Nope. Featured images (post thumbs) can not be implemented via custom fields. Read this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Thumbnails, this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/set_post_thumbnail_size, this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_insert_attachment and this: http://codex.wordpress.org/wp_generate_attachment_metadata.

    Furthermore. Every magazine-style theme requires its own set of thumbnails to fit the page layouts (there could be one or many differently-sized versions of the same featured image)

    Did you try it by yourself? Make sure to enable WP_DEBUG mode to see how many errors it does contain... This is why you won't get it working.
