Autoblogging plus members?

Hello all... have an idea for a web site, and I would like to have autoblogging on it... but I would like to also have members with the site. Now I have never done autoblogging or even used WP. Almost all of my sites have been with joomla. I am looking for idea on how I can possibly do/use both... (autoblogging and CMS )with memberships (as I would like to have a forum)....

Throw some ideas at me pls.

if you want that your members post on the same blog (auto) you must allow registration and if you want blogs for each member, use wp mu for that

I have thought of using WPMU... I did consider they they could have their own blog. But I would like for them to reg, basically for email marketing at a later date, but also wanted to have a forum to pull a community of sorts.

The auto blog would be, in part for pulling traffic and such, while the forum could be for convo's
