You are better off to get some cheap hosting and set up a WP blog IMO. There is an awesome series on BHW called "Twisted Autoblogging Method" that has videos where the guy walks you through every step and shows you how to generate some great free traffic for your site. His ideas work like a charm. That might be a good place to start if you've never set up a blog before.
Save up your money, buy your own domains, get some cheap hosting, buy WP-Robot.
It takes me about 3 hours to get a new blog set-up including getting my twitter feed and theme situated. It might take a little longer if I get picky about how the theme looks. There are probably ways to make it faster, but I've only done about 15 so far.
Personally, I think it's a misconception to think that autoblogs are something you just set up and forget about. Even for blogs that are established, I build backlinks and monitor them to make sure I'm not pulling in unrelated crap. I do spend less time on them once they are established.
You are going to have to get traffic to them and that takes work.
Ok so what is the best place to get cheap hosting? Every post seems to say something different! And I saw the twisted blogging method and do plan to use it
And yes I'm aware that they will have to be checked and maintained I'm thinking once they are all set up that I will maybe only have to spend a couple of hours a week checking up on them. Or is this being too optimistic?
And I know its going to be expensive to start out Can I not buy a couple of domains, then have a few sub-domains? Although I'm not even sure how to set this up But I'm sure I will figure it out/find someone who will guide me a bit As for WP-robot, I will probably just download a torrent of it. Then when I earn the money to buy it, I will buy the proper thing
Host gator baby gator package is pretty inexpensive. I dont know if it matters for UK-based sites or not.
The WP Robot plugin you might find on torrents, if it exists even, is pretty unreliable and I wouldn't suggest it. It's a critical part of your plan, and thus probably worth the money to purchase.
If you've never used WP before I would suggest just diving right it. Watch the video series a previous poster alluded to. I just started using WP a couple months ago and it didn't take long to get used to it. It's pretty intuitive and if you have basic php, css and html knowledge it's even easier.
To get started, register a domain. Couple bucks for .info should be fine.
Then sign up for hosting.
Then follow the videos. They really are quite helpful, and Shez was very generous to post them.
It's not automatic money. You still have to tweak things here and there, find a good niche, etc but that is all trial and error. Like I said before, jump in.
Get AUTOBLOG SAMURAI from http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/member-downloads/242493-get-auto-blog-samurai-working-version.html! You can then use Blogger to make your AutoBlogs!
Thanks so much Just the kind of thing I was looking for. Only looked at the first video so far, but it even explains how to set up a blog! Now this really is for super noobs. Even I already know how to set up a blog
And I would love to have the money to buy WP-robot, but I seriously don't. Let me clarify - I am 18, on a gap year, have a couple of part time jobs that pay minimum wage. I don't have an extra $169 to spend
There used to be a discount for BHW for WP-Robot. Look around and see if it still exists. I agree that it's a crucial piece of the puzzle.
I know some people use subdomains. I've never done it for an autoblog.
I started using .info domains since this was an experiment. I do rank for them (not #1 but some on the first page for my keyword so it is possible with .info) They are cheap.
I personally wouldn't put a lot of work into a Blogger blog or anything that I didn't control. Blogger is known for pulling the plug on people just as they start getting traffic and earnings.
Do some stuff on Fiver or something like that and save up the money. Honestly, this is not something that is easy to do without any seed money. It doesn't take a lot, but a couple of hundred dollars makes life much faster.
