Ok.. im in the process of setting up 3-5 autoblogs.. my question is this... I read somewhere in another forum that google is disregarding and not really ranking .info domains because spammers use them.. is there any credibility to that? am i better off doing.com as opposed to .info? i figure you folks on here got that info on lockdown so any help would be appreciated.. thnks:D

You might want to wait more than an hour and ten minutes before you complain. You get what you pay for, and you haven't paid anything! :)

Also, if you search the forums, you'll find plenty of threads discussing .info vs other, more popular TLDs.

If you go into google and search for "google pr checker", the top listing is a .info domain, so needless to say, I think your sources are wrong. As far as I know, the people who use up all the .info domains generally use them with PPC campaigns, not as much SEO.

My standard answer for this question (sigh):

TECHNICAL
From a technical standpoint, the domain extension does not matter. The exceptions: edu-domains and local domains. If you use a local domain (for example .nl), it will not rank good in other countries.

USER-BEHAVIOUR
It does matter for the CTR though. For example, my only biz domain has a bad CTR, despite a good ranking and enough search volume. info-domains work good for me.

You have to look at every aspect, not just at the domain name itself. Just try to think what you think if you will see your site.
