Autoblog - Picture blog only?

Does anyone run autoblogs that just show pictures? I wanted to start one but wanted to get some feedback on it. I was thinking have it auto post the pictures, but then write 1-2 custom articles per day pertaining to the niche.

Good thinking. Will you be using Blogger, Wordpress, or something else? And you're planning to run galleries? Will it be adult oriented like http://ashlynnbrookeblog.blogspot.com? Mine is not an autoblog, but I can see that one would not be too hard if someone wished to put it on autopilot.

Whatever you do, definitely write custom articles. Make it a little bit original at least.

Nope, I've been actually thinking of starting a image autoblog for quite some while ( just didn't get around it ) - it should make a killing if it starts getting traffic from google images

i thought about it too. may be it's possible to find pictures RSS feeds or create them(by dapper.net)

I started a pic wp blog yesterday as a test bed to see how easy it could be to get some traffic using just funny pictures. My thought was that people love to see funny pics and it would be easy to promote.
So I used one of my domains that I have not used for a while and uploaded a good wp theme and started copying and posting some funny pics from other sites and put them in categories. Then I signed into my reddit acount and submitted just 3 links from the site with funny captions and left it at that. I have not added any plugins yet but I did add some affiliate banners in the sidebar.
Remember I did this as a test and it took less than 2 hours all in. I looked at my site stats today in my cpanel and I have nearly 500 uniques all in less than 1 day!!!
I think pictures are the way to go to get some instant traffic as this is the quickest amount of traffic I have seen to any of my bloggs. I will add wp o matic today as some of the sites that I got the pics off have rss feeds that I could feed off.
I have also added a couple of new pages and put a couple of links up on reddit today to see if i can get some more of the same traffic.
If you want to see the site it is sstit dot com .It doesent look like much but like I said it took just a couple of hours to get where it is now.

Does any of the reddit traffic return?

is there a plugin that for example scans a folder on my server and pulls out a number of pictures? i am looking for a plugin that can do this to use my own pictures instead of rss feed

well that is a good and smart think. But do not only a picture, but the video too...

i tested this pic-blog-strategy a lot. usually the traffic does convert very bad. but with about 10.000 views each day, some money is possible. but this aim is not easy to reach and there are better ways out there to earn some money.

One possible use of a picture blog is with CPA offers. With 10000 views a day, you don't need as high of conversion to get in the black. I am not sure how CPA companies would view a picture blog as far a approval goes though.
