I have an autoblog that gets news feeds from yahoo, CNN, etc. It has a twitter and Facebook. Most of my traffic is from twitter. Every now and then someone comes over via yahoo or Bing search. No Google. I have AdSense on the site. No clicks yet. The site is a little over a month old.

I have plugins to create tags based on the article. But how else can i Do onsite seo when the articles are on current events and not on the same topic?

Are you just scraping the articles, not having them rewritten by a spinner or translator? Duplicate content won't rank if you're scraping it from authority sites. Those authority sites will ALWAYS outrank you for their content.

Ranking a news site takes a lot of work considering you are up against authority sites. If I were doing a site like this I wouldn't even bother with SEO. Get a social following. Build your twitter and facebook following and add in a few more social sites or bookmarking sites where you can get a following. You can find plugins that will post to the sites for you like you probably have for facebook and twitter. You won't make a fortune, most likely just a few dollars a month since social traffic doesn't convert as well as SE traffic.

For your next autoblog, maybe pick a different niche than news.

Yes I am. No spinning. Maybe I should narrow down my niche. The domain is not an emd so it wouldn't be difficult to narrow it.

Im sure there are many onsite seo plugins to be found on google & here at BHW that would help you out dearly.

I have an "autoblog" in a narrow niche getting ~150 UVs a day with some peaks here and there, about a month and a half old; 75%+ traffic from google
I've only had CPA offers on it with little to no success, lately I thought about flipping it but I don't know if that's possible
Isn't it dangerous to use adsense in a site with all duplicate content, and an autoblog in addition to that?

You might have to wait a few more months, and then your blog may get clicks.

As for SEO it is hard to get search engines traffic when competing against CNN and such, you can outrank them in a niche or in a local market.

What you can do is social and get them there with the twitter and FB, you can add some feathers to increase the social affect like a rating tool and say rate this reporter (not the story) and we will take more or less stories from him... Something that will make them feel they are having an affect unlike on CNN.

Just an idea..
