Autoblog Are Dead ?

Please define "dead" when it comes to auto-blogs.
Do you mean that it's hard to get traffic from Google with blogs that have auto generated content on them?
So, it may be an exaggeration to say that "auto-blogs are dead". Instead you could look at it that some types of auto-blogs are difficult to rank in Google because they're not what Google wants appearing in their search results.
If you want to auto-blog then auto-blog as much as you want and simply ignore what Google wants. Has anyone heard of a traffic source called Twitter?
Try it and stop getting so hung up on what Google does and doesn't want. If you want traffic from Google then continue to bend over and play to Googles tune and while you continue to do that please remember that Google will own and control your business.
But if you're cool and comfortable with that then feel free to carry on. I am sure the next time Google decides to change what it does and doesn't want there will be many threads and posts on here about it. I guess the question is, will you be the one reading about other peoples issues and problems or will you be looking at the thread thinking "I'm glad I don't rely on Google for the majority of my traffic"?

Nothing is dead, youtube is not dead, cpa is not dead, black hat is not dead, nothing will ever die unless the actual website goes down, there will always be methods and methods, that's just life, I've seen these kinds of threads hundreds of times on different niche asking if it's dead. Well it's not dead, there are plenty of people making some good money with Autoblog.
Auto Blogs work great.
I have a 5 week old news blog which uses wprobot also and posts using the rss feeds from news websites every 2 minutes. it also uses thebestspinner to re-write the rss feed and then automatically posts to twitter and facebook.
In the 5 weeks it gets about 500 Uniques every day and has gained a PR1 status (which i was not expecting). The website gets about 50/50 from referral and Organic.
Autoblogs without a doubt still works, just make sure you get wprobot to auto rewrite before posting.

frankly, autoblog is not dead yet
I do both, manual and auto
for manual, i do it myself, and for auto, I get someone else to do, and I pay them from the results of autoblog

my autoblog has been live for about 4 months and I am just now starting to see serp traffic trickle in. It started with 1 long tail keyword once a week, then 2 times a week...I just got a good jump the past couple of days from 2-3/day to 6-10/day....so i don't think it's "dead" but it definitely takes time, patience and lots of link building.

I happen to have a friend, he bought aged domain with no PR, set-up a simple autoblog with plugin (he insisted to not to tell me) with dirt cheap template from woo themes, he purchased xrumer blast, scrapebox comment, well, many-many much blackhat seo packages. All of that process took him 2-3 weeks waited until google's pagerank update, he got PR4. He flipped it to website broker dot com. The next week after his site sold ($1237), the site was sandboxed.
I never use this method, as I consider it to risky, and it also scamming people. I was very curious of what plugin he's using. And maybe if one of you can figure out what plugin he's using, you can implement it as the newest, most profitable autoblog can be.
