Hello,

When I post on Tumblr I use Qeue+ with this generic text for my posts that sort've self-promotes. Is this bad etiquette on Tumblr? Should my text be nothing?

I'm unfamiliar with what people normally say in posts, should I spin the text? I'm only asking cause I got a message from Anon saying that my self-promotion was annoying and my goal is to get as many followers as possible rn.

Any help appreciated!

I guess nothing is better than nothing informative, at least if it's also repetitive. However, it does create a link to your blog in the conversation thread for people reblogging. You could do some witty slogan related to your niche if you don't want to write individual ones.

Do you have experience with slogan-related posts? Is it better at attracting followers rather than putting nothing? Thanks

Since you're reblogging and the best way to utilize q+ queues is by reblogging thousands of posts from a single user(s) then maybe just try choosing 1, 2, or a couple really large activities,(hundreds or thousands of posts queues) add your promo caption to those activities, and then shuffle the queue. This way you'll have your promo come up every once in a while but not all the time.

I would say to do it for people with no captions, or for spam bots that already have captions(delete theirs first), but ideally you want your promo caption on the best and most popular captions; that way more people see it, and it gets reblogged and spread out to even more people. I see a lot of people with tons of decent posts worth queuing, but they have very little interaction with people and very few notes on their posts, so maybe for those skip the promo caption.

For slogans you just have to think of something witty, you can even combine it with my above idea to create promo solgans for individual blogs. Like:

Reblogging from a lotion porn:
"Keep that lotion out, because we aint-done-fappen dot tumblr dot com"

Reblogging from an ebony blog:
"Mmm black chicks always get me in the mood for fapping" (obviously using a hyperlink here)

Doesn't have to be porn, just find something relevant to the blog you're reblogging and tune the slogan/promo to that, and of course try not to do it on every blog, maybe even do some captions/comments with no promo at all... even seeing your blog name making some funny comment a few reblogs down the line might make people visit your blog and follow.
