A prime example is a 10 year old thread, member who has not been seen for 2 years and is no longer a Jr Vip, yet people still applying.

Absolutely agree. Those threads are dead and there is no benefit from them.
But when people stack on them - they spend time for nothing..

100% agree, would even go further and auto lock review copy thread aftrr 14 days.
