Um, I think I made a boo-boo! I installed my first autoblog last night. This morning I have tons of comments from one of the sources going on about copyright. Is this because I was dumb and left pings on in WP-o-matic?

Should the discussions be left open/closed/registered only?
 
can you please explain the dd sitemap in more detail? I have the plugin activated and the new page created but i get a 404 error when i try and view that page.

and what is a slug?

Wait a min....

If you suggest to use cheap PPC traffic, then I don't need a blog.

I can just put some content on a mini site, and put some ads from contextual ads except google adsense.

I had that happen to me on one of my blogs. The one thing it did get me was a large spike of views, I don't know that I made any clicks or sales out of it though.

Nothing came of it, I don't know, but it's probably a good idea to have your domain whois information protected.

Your right, whois information protection is never a bad idea...
but... I wouldn't count on whois gaurd protecting you from the original owners of content. They will be contacting you hosting company and your advertisers ASAP if they can not get ahold of you through your domain reg info. Don't just expect them to forget about it, put up a dmca notice on your site and respond to all emails about copyright infringement immediatly (before it gets to your host).
 
Luckily it was on my own server, and was just a test installation. I've dropped WP-o-matic and gone over to CC, it's much easier, and a whole lot quicker for broad topic blogs. I really like the time I save by bot trying to get stumbleupin to find stuff.

Stumbleupon would only find about 10 sites in my interests, then just start picking crap. I spent about 6 hours yesterday trying to find sites with it. Maybe it just doesn't like me. :(

Caffeinated Content. It can grab from youtube, yahoo answers, articles, and a couple others. I think the main complaint is that it's pretty resource intensive, so if you're planning on running a lot of autoblogs on one shared host, you might want to stick with something less resource intensive like feedwordpress, possibly coupled with something like wp-answers or wp-videotube
 
Yep, that's the one. I have my own server and can confirm that it's very resource intensive. My mail client has trouble downloading mail while it's running! Your hosts would haul you over the coals in no time! (but it is good!) I run it when my trafic is quietest.

Hey do you have a newer version of CC? I got CC from here and it only posts yahoo, articles and youtube. If you got a newer / better version here - please post the link to the thread. I would love to get a more updated / better version!

On my first autoblog I began using wp o matic but have since found that I prefer feedwordpress. wp o matic won't pull videos where as fwp does. Also to go along with it there is a feedwordpress duplicate post filter. I was using wp autotagger but am kind of on the fence a bit because it tends to create tons of tags and sometimes that's not always a good thing. Unlike most I am not using my autoblog for adsense pennies I have a higher purpose for mine lol.

In my opinion your better off going with .com's .net's .org's .info's can get banned quickly sometimes.

I'm using firefox so it my be different on IE.

When you go to the site, if they have their RSS feed in the site's metadata you will see the rss icon in the address bar, just click it! ;)
