I haven't run into trouble with Hostgator...yet. To avoid slamming their servers, I staggered the feed schedules on wp-o-matic so that only one feed is retrieved per hour across all of my sites. If you have it set up so that the servers have to process a ton of feeds all at once, then you're going to attract unwanted attention. Spreading it out lets you fly under the radar...at least for a little while longer.
I'm not going to claim that this method is foolproof, but it's been working for me so far.

Thanks for asking this. I thought it was only me who saw the lines of asterisks. Thought something might be wrong with my screen or my eyes.
Don't know why the OP omitted this despite writing a detailed and awesome guide.
I hope he clarifies this for us.

In the section of Free traffic, Ernest have mentioned that posting on **********.org would raise weblog traffic which can make our hosting account to be closed.
I tried to post on **********.org but I wandered how I could link this post to my weblog.
