So i uploaded some guys youtube videos on my account. I did not edit the video i kept it all orginal him saying who he was and where he worked for only thing i did was uplaod it to my youtube channel and put my website link in the description.

Now he's emailed me saying lawyers are going to be coming after me soon and that they alrdy got in contact with yotube to take my videos down ( which youtube did ) they took my videos down.

Now i don't know if hes blushing or being serious i mean youtube did take my videos down. He has my name and adress i guess he got it from my hosting. lol

I did sell other related material on my site which are a few ebooks i found online i edited and put it there. Nothing regarding him.

Basically just uploaded the vid to get traffic

Should i be worried?

My guess is he is bluffing...90% of the time people just say that to scare you and to take all your copied content down.

He could have easily have just flagged your video or contacted youtube to get the videos taken down, so it doesn't mean he has lawyers after you

But he could be serious to be honest, if he is an asshole

Sounds like he was just pissed trying to scare you into not showing the videos anymore. Probably just flagged them on youtube and contacted youtube via email.

Nothin big.

He this guys a fucking prick. Saying im selling his content -.- im selling ebook and adsense lol this site is soo old i get like 20 visitors a day i dont even work on it lol received a random email out of no where.

I did make a sale of an ebook last week and the client tought it was the videos they were gonna receive im starting to think she contacted him. i NOWHERE mentioned the videos where on sale or they where mine , neither on the website or in the email exchanged.

Why not just work on your own content like most people. Would be less stressful that way. When you steal from others you get what you deserve.

lol im not saying what i did was right...

yeah i was right he just sent me a email with my bank info claiming i stole alot of sales from him lmao when i only made 1 sale lol ... i dont think say sorry would do anything =/

Blackhat comes with risks and consequences , be willing to accept them.

If I were you I would not worry. If someome wants to sue then he will just do it, and not blush you with lawyers :)

You cant worry about all the things in life. If something has to happen it will.

ok ok now tell him this:

"Man WTF are you fif-teen ?
I used to smoke everything that was green.
You think I stole your sales?
Your mother is bigger than some BIG wales
I gotta admit
You really AIN'T THE SH#T!
Now take your asz and go again to school...
Cause I can change my mind
And I will fu*k you in your own pool
"

That could be the dumbest thing I've ever read on this forum.

Please step away from the keyboard and put your hands up...you are under arrest for wack-ass-attempted rapping in the first degree and blatant mis-use of the english language in the second degree...you have the right to remain silent -- in fact we demand it! -- anything you say can and will force us to use the ban-hammer against you -- you have the right to an attorney...but any asshole foolish enough to defend you may get shot in the head right on the court room steps...and blah, blah, blah, blah :sgrin:

To be completely honest, he is kicking dirt to look like he's tough. He would have to pay big money to take you to court and prove you damaged his business financially in some way. Legal research for that could easily run into the thousand of dollars in the first week of playing with lawyers. If he wants to press criminal theft charges, he would first have to find a jurisdiction that wants to go after someone who stole an ebook (or videos if that was the case) and then you could plea bargain for petty theft and walk out of court with a $500 fine, for which the county, state, or local jurisdiction would have had to pay a lot of money and manpower to go after you.

Even a public defender and a typewriter could fight jurisdiction orders on this for years.

If it was a download and reupload, you could cry default licensing etc...

Youtube is a "sharing" site, complete with blog embedding etc. Did he block embedding his vids? Did he restrict licensing? Has he listed them on other video sites that set default licensing to CC?

All you have to do is ask one of these questions to cost him money.

Just keep your hands clean, fresh offshore hosting, or a legal defense fund.

Live and learn. but I think you will be OK if you comply with the C&D order by not reupping (under the same account info LOL).

The fuck should probably be thanking you for promoting him, so hi chances of proving loss are close to nothing

Why are you copying videos of other people being in the videos?
Go on Fiverr and get yourself a unique one..

I doubt if he really wants to sue you. Don't worry.
