Been looking into Authority sites, got a lot of page saved/bookmarked and i'm ready to get the ball rolling.
Got a niche ready along with a domain and hosting. Was wondering what software people would recommend i use for example wordpress?
Are there any must have plugins (presuming i use WP) that i should get downloaded/installed right away.
Any tools or sites that will help me in the process.

    Any advice/tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    CazuaL

The only difference between an authority site, and a thin affiliate blog is the scope of the content. The CMS, plug-ins etc. are entirely your own personal choices. Use what ever you feel comfortable with, and put up lots and lots and lots and lots .... did I say lots :) of content. Interlink it. Link out to other authority sites. Backlink all your urls for wide spreads of niche relevant anchors. Do this for a few months, and you'll have an authority site. You'd be better off buying and using an already aged domain in that field, or using your new domain, but buying an existing site or just expired domain and 301 redirecting it to your new site. Just make sure you use due diligence and the expired domain or old site haven't been penalized.

To add to this great advice, a good and simple way to interlink your content is by using a plugin called SEO Smartlinks (free version works just fine for this).
