Authority Site + Adsense & Amazon = £$?...

I came online today looking for some inspiration. I moved down to the states here from where your hockey team is from in 2004, and although my job pays me very well, I know full well that I could be asking for trouble if the economy does a 2008 again, and I am SCARED.

I clicked on YOUR thread because of that avatar!

Anyhow, I have started and stopped so many times. My niche is the weight loss one, and I started a site WEEKS AGO and have basically all but stopped with it.
Looking forward to reading your posts here, I wanted to say hi before I forgot to.

Must be a sign then bro! ;) Similar to me really; my job pays well but I'm bored stiff of it and if it suddenly went away I'd be up sh*t creek.

If you think you're on to something with your site/niche; never give up. It's really tough to keep yourself going sometimes but fight through it. I struggle A LOT to keep going but there's light at the end of the tunnel! Find a profitable niche, work hard and you can get there! I've had 3/4 days away from the site just to keep myself fresh, came on this morning and one of my big keywords for my money page is making it's move towards page 3 midway through my link building order! Refreshed my motivation!

MIDDLE(ISH) AUGUST UPDATE
Well, sort of middle. In all honesty there's not a great deal to add, time constraints have prevented from adding much new content to the site. Here's the current picture:

The site is growing in authority as more of my backlinks start to get found. Organic Keywords has also seen a sharp increase. Hopefully by the end of August I'll start to see serious movement in the rankings. Two of my money page keywords are on Page 6 and 8 at the moment. Another backlink package is in progress.

SOCIAL MEDIA
Facebook Likes: 2014

Not really bothering with Twitter or Instagram at the minute; Facebook has been my main source of traffic throughout so it's getting my focus. The competition on the other two sites and my time constraints make it near impossible to build a presence there.

FUTURE PLANS
Much of the same really; content added as and when freshness is required, more backlink building and Facebook presence growth. I don't think I fully appreciated just how long it takes fresh new domains to rank these days but the reward will be worth the wait if I can get it there. I have a side project on the go in the mean time in a much less competitive niche which I hope can help generate funds to fuel this project further,​
