Hey i have about $500 to invest and want to know which route is better to invest in, either multiple micro niche sites or an authority site. Which one basically will help me get the most adsense revenue.

    Cheers

During the latest updates by Google, you are better off with an Authority Site. Micro Niche Sites often inherited their succes from the fact they are EMD and target long tail keywords. EMD domains now have less 'authority' in Google's eyes making it less valuable. Authority sites do take some more patience to be succesful with, but can provide a nifty long term income. I would recommed either buying an authority site on this very forum (I believe they go from $150 to $500 a piece) and gradually add more articles to target long tail keywords (up to hundreds of articles, SLOWLY).

If you are decent with IM, do your own keyword research (I'd recommend 20k+ searches, low to moderate competition and $1+ CPC) and optimize a standard template and do onpage SEO and use the rest of your money for offpage SEO (backlinks with weight) and articles (which you gradually add). So I would definately recommend outsourcing article creation in either scenario as it is a daunting task in my eyes. Lastly: read what bluematter has to say about SEO if you want to have a go at it yourself. Good Luck!

If its for adsense, go with authority site. If its for affiliate sales, you could go for micro niche sites.

I would recommend building an authority site first and then banking on MNS.

There's a much simpler way of looking at it: $500 is not enough to start multiple ventures, and besides, it's better to focus your energy.

so build one site, and put all of your effort into it. Doesn't have to be authority site, it can still be a niche site, your budget will just go further.

Instead of thinking of it as a a mns or an authority think of making a niche site. I think of an authority site as a site that everyone will go to to find info in a certain niche, so obviously these can take years to make. But I think you should consider a more "Niche Site",by this i mean pick a niche where you can cover a large amount of areas in this niche.

These sites can range from 10-250+ posts all for different areas of the niche and different keywords. You will normally have a static homepage based around the harder but most searched keyword that you choose to go after, these normally range from 3k-25k+ local searches per month. After that you make subcategories in which you continue to find lesser searched terms and make articles about those.

I think you should go after this type of site because with $500 you should be able to do some good keyword research and make a successful site.

They are both profitable, however given your budget constraints and the fact you want to use Adsense I would say go Authority.

Micro-niche sites only work well if u have some really strong links pointing to it (ie paid, blog network etc) which you probably dont have the money to do as you'll need strong links to rank for some bigger keywords because you're probably not gonna get that long-tail traffic.

Authority at least allows you to catch some long tail traffic due to the size, and generally is better for Adsense.

So I would say in your case go authority and just buy a ton of content. Good luck.

Thanks for all your tips! Which BST or Authority site provider do you recommend I go with? I have had a look at them all and they all seem to have their perks but I was just wondering what ones you guys recommend are to be the best?

EMD still work, but you must add some contents to it. Don't just make 1 page content.
