Authority Account

IMO business accounts are a little harder to gain followers on (if anyone has a different experience let me know)

It would depend on your niche obviously, but say you've got a site about lawn mowers. I'd create a board for say "push mowers" "tractors" "electric lawn mowers" "DIY" "gardening" depending on what you have on your site. I don't know for sure that there are really any "authority" accounts on Pinterest because it seems to largely remove the individual user from the experience, and focuses more on the content. When you search for "lawn mowers" it shows you pins by default, not users.

If you're going to build an authority type account focusing on one topic and also post other peoples content then I don't think it needs to be done manually, I'd scrape the top repinned results from your keywords and post them along side your content.

In my experience, having a good-looking realistic account gains followers much more easily. Because a lot of people will follow all of your boards instead of taking the time to individually follow the boards they are actually interested in, they'll still see the content related to the other boards when you pin them.

Let's say again you're focusing on a lawn mower website. This is honestly not going to be very popular with your average Pinterest user who is twenty something and female. But lets say you have an account with a cute animal pictures board, a recipes board, a chocolate board, a board for fashion and then say a board about landscaping or something where you post your lawnmower pins. People are going to follow you for the cute pictures, recipes and end up following your landscaping board too. Because of this, they'll see your cat memes but also the lawn mower pin you snuck in there.

Thanks for the reply, a lot of insight. I may have confused you, I don't plan to make a business account. By authority account I mean my main account that would have the most followers. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to build that up and what I should do every day for that account alone.
