Just curious to see others opinions on whether or not to buy expired or auctioned domains?

From my knowledge expired domains are mostly garbage but you only pay reg fee.

Auctioned domains on the other hand are expensive but more quality.

Expied domains are also de indexed making them less potential for SEO purposes, right? Am I missing anything here? Has anyone had success with expired domains ?

i bought an expired domain name that was created back in 2003 ! and i did not see any potential when i look it up on whois it only shows the date i purchased it even in seo testing sites it shows the same.

I personally prefer the auction domains. However these days, the price of auction domains have increased a lot. So you gotta keep that in mind too.

Simple. You get what you pay for.

If you want a decent domain, go to the auctions and expect to pay up. If you do not have a budget for that, you are stuck to scraped domains. There are plenty of auction domains that are even bigger crap than scraped ones, but that's obviously not the ones to go after.

Indexation/deindexation have no impact on how well the domains perform in my experience (unless you decide to rebuild the sites, then you want as many pages indexed as possible) as long as they are clean, they will get indexed nonetheless.

I wish to use auction domains instead of expired domains. Auction Domain has some quality, but the price is high. Yes, this happens because of its quality.

When you go with expired domains, it will be cheap, but the quality is not superb as like AD.
