.au Domains out in March 2022

Good news. However I assume AU residence is required for such names?

What about you Remy are you gonna register some?

The regional domains are only good if you're not targeting global audience. I don't think it'll be that popular.

Yeah,
I will, I have a few .com.au ones already ;)

Yeah, It won't be as restrictive as the current .com.au I believe since .com.au and id.au needs
a) an Australian registered company; or
b) trading under a registered business name in any Australian State or Territory; or
c) an Australian partnership or sole trader;
d) a foreign company licensed to trade in Australia; or
e) an owner of an Australian Registered Trade Mark; or
f) an applicant for an Australian Registered Trade Mark ; or
g) an association incorporated in any Australian State or Territory; or
h) an Australian commercial statutory body.

basically, you need a registered business in Australia

While .au just needs
"Registrants must be Australian"

aren't there any law firms or tm agencies who can "rent" their ABN and register a domain on behalf of a client? I'd be interested in a few .au domains, but I hate to go through the 7-mo wait to get a trademark or have a business license set up for a few lousy domains.
