Someone in IRC gave me the idea of giving away an iPhone (or some other expensive gaget) in order to attract facebook likes, which sounded like a great idea to me. I have a local business so having thousands of facebook likes in my area would be great.
However, I've hit a road block. It seems like this kind of activity is against Facebook ToS. You can advertise a givaway on FB, but you can't host it there. That's fine, I'll just create a page on my website for the givaway and have arrows pointing to a "Like" button saying that "All you need to do to enter [the givaway] is click this button".
However, from what i read that seems against the rules to. The like button cannot be used to enter people in givaways.
Is this true? If so, what workarounds are there? Anyone have any better ideas to get facebook likes?
