Attention life hacker theme

Hey guys,does anyone know, how they did it. On lifehacker com, the widgets area does not scroll or move, it just stays in one place - so pretty.

How do you think we can achieve this on any blog. Please advice!

Looking at the code it appears they used JS to keep the sidebar static but let the main body scroll.

Maybe someone here can write a theme like this.
