At what point would you quit using a bot?

I have an IG account that I'm going to use to promote an apparel business (starting to branch out of the IM such). My followers are somewhat active, but unless I'm using FL, the amount of new followers are low. At what point would you stop using FL in order not to take a chance of your account being deleted. My settings are extremely low - averaging about 150 follows per day, 100 unfollows, and 250 likes.

This isn't just some account I'm trying to monetize to sell shoutouts or have people complete a survey. This is the start of an offline company and need this account to market my products.

The bigger your account gets, the more I would turn down the use. I was running max settings on an account with 40,000 followers on Twitter and never had a problem. It's a game of give and take and finding a happy medium. Experiment and see what will work best for your exact situation.
 
I understand that, but the whole experiment thing wouldn't work for me.. I'm not going to try something that gets my account banned and then be like "oh, that's the limit." lol.

So you were hoping somebody else do that for you?
 
I was hoping for opinions on when other people would stop, not someone telling me that I need to "experiment."

Too much hearsay going on. Best is to find a way to experiment by yourself without jeopardizing your accounts.

Completely agree. Was just looking for recommendations from some people who have been around IG longer than I. I do appreciate your feedback though. :)
 
No one can really tell for sure. We're all just guessing. It will depend on your risk appetite. I would personally stop botting once I hit a number that gives my business a significant presence online. When you reach the point that you can't risk it anymore, stop.
 
I currently run them with all my accounts each one ranging from 10k to 150k, I will continue to do so :)
 
I wouldn't worry about it and just keep it slow and smooth. I manage a list of large accounts from action sport apparel brands, athletes and a race team which I have all implemented bots create direct to consumer engagement. I have had a few warnings when I was MAXING the speed and slowed it down. Since then.. never a issue and have been doing running bots for 4 years.

I say keep on keeping on. Your biggest increase will really help from the deliverability of quality content and how it is addressed to current and new fans. The visibly off with hashtags, shares are retweets help obviously but as you directly continue to engage in areas of interest... fans will follow. 1 - 2 post a day Instagram and Twitter, Facebook try 3 - 5. I just topped off an account I managed from 9,347 to 140k in less than 6 months on instagram and the bot was a huge reason why.

Long Live The Bots. Hope this sheds some light for you.

I don't know, I've been using FL to grow from 0 to 45K but since February I stop using it, cause my avrg likes/pic were down, I'm kinda thinking IG is using quality score for acc, and the ones were using bot are scored poor (in best case or banned in worst)

That means > No more recommend page / Popular

I did FL only likes (1500-2000 likes a day), on followers from targeted acc.

I've seen accounts with 10K followers with incredible engagement and they don't do robots...

Anyway my performance now is worst but I'm hoping to get better organically in a couple of months or so...
 
I'm going to stop/cut down botting once my acc hits 100k. At that point I think sfs with other 100k+ acc will be enough to continue growth.
 
For me, once I reach 50k, I stop using any type of bot. From there, I should already have a good circle of people to exchange shoutouts for free within that niche and also a few people that I can buy s/o's from.
 
Just another question. At which point do you start unfollowing people?

Like with anything it's trial and error a lot of the time. I would test using a bot on an account you don't mind getting banned and work from there. I personally myself would get to 50k and then stop using a bot.
 
Good post with good responses. Pleased to see some people who have 'made it' offering advice.
I think it's worth noting with your settings that low and particularly that you are not commenting... I really wouldn't worry too much about being flagged by instagram as an abusive account. It's the spam comments that seem to get people banned.

I'd go till you start getting offers from brands and stuff to promote their accounts and products and you can make a decent amount of money from it. Then there's no use for a bot anymore. That's just my opinion.
 
Slightly different question. Do you guys bot accounts and then use the botted account to promote for an alternative account you haven't botted with so that your second account has a steady growth without a risk of getting banned?
