Have you hit a ceiling where extra backlinks no longer move the needle, even in low–mid KD niches?

Yes. There’s a clear point of diminishing returns. After a certain level, link quality and relevance matter far more than adding more links.

After a while extra links give little boost. Google values quality over just numbers

Focus on relevant sites not just spamming links

Yes, that ceiling exists. Once content, intent, and topical authority are solid, extra links often show diminishing returns. At that point, improving content depth, internal linking, or anchor balance usually moves rankings more than adding more backlinks.

I completely agree with the points made about hitting a ceiling with backlinks, especially in low-mid KD niches. It's interesting to see how everyone's experience aligns with Google's emphasis on quality over quantity. I've found that focusing on relevant, high-quality links and improving content depth can indeed yield better results than simply adding more links. Has anyone experimented with optimizing their internal linking structure to see a significant impact on rankings, and if so, what strategies worked best for them?

Yep, happens a lot. once authority is good enough, more links don’t help much. at that point, content quality, intent match, and internal linking usually move the needle more than extra backlinks.
