Assorted YouTube Questions and Discussion!

Hey everyone!

So I had a few questions regarding YouTube and wanted to ask as well as create some discussion on some of these niches and how things go/what works/what doesn't/etc.


Starting with the questions:

1. Let's say I have a Video Gaming Channel and throughout its life it's featured primarily one specific game. We'll say Call of Duty.
Well, what if I want to start uploading Shorts or Videos of an entirely different video game/genre.
We'll say, Shorts of NBA2k and NFL Madden.
My question is, should I start an entirely different Channel (Shorts Channel?) for those games of which I don't normally post on the Gaming Channel? Would it mess up views, etc for the others or isn't recommended at all?
Was thinking of starting another Channel for posting those Games, but I would ideally just do it on my (already monetized)
Gaming Channel. Please tell me your thoughts/knowledge here!

2. While on that subject, with regards to NBA2k or NFL Madden or any game with Copyrighted music inside, how do monetized Channels/approved Channels post those games without getting strikes or any trouble? Can those videos still be monetized/approved for monetization?

3. Lets say you do a 'Viral Clips' Shorts Channel. Can that be allowed/monetized?
And/or if you do 'Viral Clips' with some form of commentary perhaps? Again, can be allowed/monetized?

1: No one will surely know the answer, I guess you would need to post test videos and see it for your self.
No one will know, because it is dynamic thing and depends on many things, your channel audience, channel history, growth bunch of variables and dials which you would have to figure out on your own, that is the best way IMO.

If you just want an opinion, I think as long as the niche is games, it would most probably be okay. But that is just an opinion and you need to post very low amount of "Test videos" slowly and carefully if you are afraid of loosing something, and if you think it is not gonna work, just delete/private them and keep on doing what is already working for you.

2: I am not in this niche, but I have general understanding of copyright and sounds or clips. It is either you are using small portion of video or audio with commentary and added value which then makes it fair use, Or you have a license of some sort to be able to post as is. (Fair use is monetized fine)

3: This again, the best advice would be to use the fair use guidelines, lets just say if the video you are posting is unique and different from other videos posted previously then it is in fair use. if you can't add enough changes to make it uniquely yours then it won't get monetised as YouTube highlights it.

Have an established, monetized YT gaming channel that I've run for 8y+, so I can speak a bit

1. I'm all over the place with gaming content both video and short wise and this doesn't affect me at all. There are tons of channels that do nothing but indie game reviews where the game changes every video. Some videos do better than others, but that's purely on topic. Shorts have been driving an impressive amount of traffic to the channel, and its for a game I haven't produced content for in 2y+ as a side note.

2. In short, no. Some games have a streamer/no-copyright mode, but I have been straight screwed by that before. Don't trust it. Turn off the game music and grab some Ambient music off the YouTube Audio Library, run it through Audacity and adjust it -25db, and tune it to your volume liking in your editor. You can also grab Lofi "Copyright Free" music and throw it in. 3. Yes. Shorts are fully monetizable, but YT absolutely docks for recycled / reposted content if they detect it. You'll need to change it enough to pass detection. Actually just spun two short channels up.
