Microsoft Word is your best bet - that is, if you have it installed on your computer. If not, you can use this online tool for free to check and correct grammar: http://www.whitesmoke.com/free-online-checker/

Open Office works best for me. It's free and has AutoSpellcheck.

Are you using any of the specially grammar checker plug-in available to Openoffice? I had downloaded a few, but they were so difficult to figure out... I gave up and continued relying on just Word 2007.
