I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying this, I know it's in the download section but I can't be arsed with waiting for upgrades etc when it's only $20 a year.

Has any one had success with this? I'm thinking of adding it on my personal and whitehat sites and also my micro sites to spice them up a little... and of course something other sites..

I know about the 24hr cookie from amazon etc, that's a problem but just want to hear people's opinions on it :)

how did you use it? Put it on a popular blog already or made it rank from the start?

I just bought it yesterday and I in the process of setting it up. Hope to report back after a while.

I just set it up as a standalone store, chose a niche, added some advertising things to make it look a bit bigger, now I'm Page 1 of Google UK for about 10 keywords, easy money ;)

Sweet.. Looks like i'll be setting one up soon and adding it to my blog, along with other things ;)

Good luck, it's pretty addictive once it gets going. I've got around 6 or 7 AOM sites now, all sitting there after a bit of backlinking

How well does it work with amazons data feed, cause viewing some demo sites, i noticed they are having some problems pulling in the products, but that could be because they are using an outdated version.

I'm 1 on the SERPS for one site with AOM but it doesn't convert that well, not been using it that long so maybe I'm not using it right if anyone wants to share any tips I'm listening :)

I've taken the plunge, and so far its not doing so well.

I get about one google search a day and what ever traffic i send (better than nothing i guess), there's absolutely no one buying, the people who checkout seem to get turned off when redirected to amazons checkout.

It's only been a week, i still have the rest of the year to earn more than what i have paid.

Setup went nicely, loved how easy it was to get it all up and running.

I also noticed that when i bought ad traffic (1000 real visits), amazon limits you to how many products can be pulled in per hour, so when it exceeds the limit nobody can buy anything from my site, or see any products, so i guess ranking high is a bad idea, even bots can bring your site down, kind of stupid.

I just had a play, and your checkout redirect is SLOW.

Stuff like that makes users lose a LOT of trust, especially as it is a big ugly "CHECKOUT" in an ugly font.

Either make it an instant redirect, or have a web2.0 spinner say something like.

To make it easy for you, we are transferring you to the worlds number 1 online retailer amazon.com

Your checkout is fine, I don't know what the guy above me is talking about.

Things to do:

mod_rewrite - get this up and running so Google will recognise the URLs easier, it's a big thing. Editing your .htaccess file isn't that hard, AOM gives a good copy paste tutorial ;)

Clean up the information displayed per item, like the New/Used thing, it's not a boot sale you're running.

Let me know if you need some more suggestion, just had quick look though.

Oh yeah, add a favicon!

Pic attached shows what I get.

It hangs for 2-5 seconds.

Thanks for tips, much appreciated.

edit: changes made, but the ruleset was made for shop.php so i had to change it all to index.php

Other than that, it wasn't as intimidating as i thought.

Yeah, it doesn't look like that on my end, nor does it hang.

I've added a small picture on my site that will warn people they'll get redirected to Amazon, something along the lines of "Secure Payment and Tracking with Amazon". Make it into a nice picture and stick it along the side of the shop, made quite a big difference ^^

Now the traffic is pouring in, still no buys yet, but happy with the results.

I added a message in the checkout area also, see how that goes.
