Assembled Machine or Apple iMac???

Man i have a decent windows desktop, and i haaaaaaaate it. Any time i want to do work, create something, surf the web, listen to music, watch movies, i need to be sitting in the same spot for every single activity.

I am looking forward to getting a macbook at some point. I want to create so it's the best route for me, but in general I now prefer laptops over desktops. If you need the extra screen space just plug up a monitor. Just such a drag having a desktop.

CPU: intel i5 2500k
GPU: ATI radeon hd 6850
RAM: 8GB DDR3

I would go for an assembled PC. You can make it as per your comfort and needs. Still...it's your choice :D

get a desktop, install Debian 8 and run windows shit on wine. neckbeards rule.

Only hipsters and dicks get iMacs, and I can tell from your glorious avatar that you are not a dick.

Get the desktop, they are far more standardised, you will more for your money, easier to expand and update...

Plus a lot of IM software is not developed for a mac, and putting windows on a mac is like buying an expensive hooker, than banging her in a back street ally and not the 5 star hotel water bed she deserves.

iMac is an incredible machine. It's going to obviously cost a lot more, but IMO it's the best investment. Resale value is great too
