asking eBay to delete accounts? Or big no-no?

Hi to all,

I have sold on eBay before (about a year ago) on and off. I sold faulty iPhones and iPods and every now and then I got abusive buyers who falsely claimed the description wasn't correct. Or the ones that claim I didn't ship out the item when the postal services were on strike...etcetera.

Most of my customers were happy but as I didn't put up a lot of items for sale (it was merely a thing to kill time then). So I have, in my name, 3 eBay accounts with feedback that is below what it needs to be. There are NOT limited, PP is just fine too, but the feedback is just to harsh.

My friend's eBay is a 100% account but less then 30 days old. I currently use that (build it up slowly).

I'm going to register myself as a business here (just got back from abroad) and want to sell A LOT soon - in the coming 3 months.

What's the best way? Call eBay and ask them to delete my current accounts so I can make a new one for business? Or keep using my friend's eBay and report taxes with his paypal etc.

Just leave the account open, the negative feedback will go away over time. But if you really want to close your account you can do it your self... Just submit a request to close account: http://cgi1.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CloseAccount

Are your 3 accounts linked somehow? Name, address, ip's, etc...

If you're going to ditch those 3 accounts anyway I think it's irrelevant if you close them or not.

You can always open new accounts. If the old accounts are linked to you, your past will determine if you can use your real data or need to go stealth.

I have several active accounts under the same "person" and they know it and it's not a big deal. Sometimes they ask questions about other accounts I'm not using but I guess deleting accounts won't make them forget about them. Someone with more experience let me know if I'm right on this point.

yes, they are linked, started them way before I learned about stealth. They are all in my name, address, PP, ip etc

Would a forth account in my name (same details all the way) get me into trouble?

i would not close them. aged ebay accounts are a good thing to have. i would sell some cheap items and build up your feedback. the old stuff will eventually go away.

If you got too many complaints on present account then its better to close account .Negative reviews affect business a lot

I think it depends on how much feedback you have

If you have a lot then its not worth closing but if you only have a few then you definately should.

just because you close them it does not mean that ebay will forget about them if you open new ones with the same info. if it were me i would hold onto them.

This is true, so there's no point in closing them no matter how bad the feedback is.

Just don't use them, specially for selling.
