Ask - static ip provider workaround

I am using an internet provider that could not give me a definitive answer to this so I post it here

my query is this

They have a static ip. effectively this means the same ip showing for ALL their customers

For me to navigate around craigslist 5 ads a day from the same ip maximum ruling i could use hide my ip - but - would it work - given my ips static ip ???

or will ANY proxy work with a static ip provider address or do i need to change providers to one which has a dynamic ip /

You're misinterpreting what a static IP means. If your ISP gives you a static IP, it means your IP does not change, not that everyone at the ISP shares one IP (which would be impossible.) With a dynamic IP, you get a different one every time you connect.

Most ISPs are really somewhere in between -- you have an IP address that doesn't change very often (with Comcast, I see mine change only a few times per year.) True static IPs are something you have to pay extra for, and that you get from hosting providers, not your home ISP.

However, none of this is relevant to use of proxies at all. You can use a proxy to mask an IP address regardless of how often it changes.

Also you'll no thave much success using shared IPs like iprental, hide-my-ass, hide-my-ip and other similar services for Craigslist.

Craigslist is though to post to, heavy filtering, large ip bans, pva requirements and security changes every few months.

Craigslist becomes harder and harder to post on, that's a fact these days.
You'll have to learn how to get the posts through for your section.
Often you have to start all over again when you switch to another section.

So the answer is: "it can be"
use good IPs, good PVAs and invest the time required to learn posting for your sections.
Of course you can also try post without PVA (using dialup, DSL, or shared IPs) but expect a lot more frustration when using shared IPs.


I'm sure more than 90% of all people give up on the track, Craigslist can sometimes be very hard in terms of ghosting and even remove ads that look totally clean.
It's like making good money: you need to stay on your course, you need to keep pressure and sooner or later you crack it


P.S.
The good part of this is that CL is less spammed than before. The harder posting becomes (for spammers) the better your conversion rates will be (for successful posts)
