2. Thirsty Affiliates would be my best call.

3. Yes, I customize my websites by myself. Whenever it comes to complex coding or JavaScript, I am cooperating with some devs. It depends on the project. In most cases, I am teaming up with the theme developers and pay them a little extra. If you propose to buy their theme or plugin twice on ThemeForest with two different accounts and leave a positive rating, they are willing to do some custom work as well for free.
4. I would use one of these Shopify themes, as they are quite new and I don't trust early theme developers.

Yes, of course. Internal link building is very important + a good sitemap. Make sure that you're building a healthy link building network, instead of spamming your links to different directory websites.
Also, plugins like WPSchema will help you rank better.
