Any tips to rank for google local search ?

local keywords are way easy
so normal seo
first layer unique content
second layer low obl backlinks with pr 9++
third layer high pr backlinks 9++
it works !

Is the type of business you want to rank showing Google+ Places listings in the results, or is it a straight normal results page? This will affect the strategy you adopt.

I think you need to put your local to contents it look like keywords. Google will filter it and deceive your local ranks

you can use microdata for organisation, to show your location. Also ad targeting in webmaster tools. Put links from local sites and blogs. Blogs easy to find and sort by pr/alexa using local language or just looking them in alexa top.

Many in your position are recommending having the site on local hosting (hosting company in that country), this may improve site browsing speed, and rankings, if google is counting at where the site is hosted.

As a great first step, you should check out David Mihm's local ranking factors. Just google it. At the bottom of his post you'll find a sort of checklist. If you take the time to learn that, you'll be way ahead of the game.

In sum, you've got:

1- strong website with schema, reviews, good on-page seo and a landing page for ech location
2- social accounts done, active and full of info
3- structured citations - yellowpages, yelp, etc
4- unstructured citations - youtube, dailymotion, etc.
5- quality link profile

Monitoring Google bots on local site, they all comes with USA IP located in california. Trace rout is rather long. So for google loading page have some delay with geo location. My ranks is high, haven't tested local site that hosts in USA, but think if you want googlebot have faster access to your page use servers in California =)

does the microdata help with SEO or just sites that scrape for it?
