I'm new to dedicated server stuff so I need some help here.

I'm planning to buy dedicated server for my scrapebox and othe BH tools campaign from

Code:
http://www.1and1.com

Are the anyone here that have experience with them regarding using BH tools on their dedicated server??

Another question: Does dedicated server means that I will also get dedicated connection or will it still be shared?? Should I choose windows package or managed package??

Thanks.

Hello,

i don't have any experience using BH tools with DS :p But i think rather than using DS, why don't you try to use VPS with high spec. It is easier to manage (like reboot, OS reload, etc.) than DS. Of course you can also buy dedicated line for maximum speed. You can pick one of Windows already VPS or XenHVM VPS and buy Windows license. If i were you, will think a thousand times to go with DS for my personal use, even if i have some more bucks to spend. Except if i really need it.

About DS connection, they're not always come with dedicated line, i think it comes in options whether you want to upgrade to dedicated 10Mbit - 1Gbit connection or not.

1 silly complain and 1and1 will boot you off without a refund. May I know your budget ? check out hosting section on botmaster forum, huge deals going on there.

In regards to the dedicated connection, there is virtually no host out there that will have the same amount of ISP link bandwidth has they offer their customers in total. They simply monitor their links and either allow their bandwidth to burst or commit to more bandwidth from their ISP. This is the case in many service based environments. Just make sure you go with a company that doesn't oversell too much or you will be saddened with a slow server. 1and1 has been around for ages and is well known so I'm sure they run a smooth operation.

1and1 is rising huge red flags. Avoid them like fire!

Most of companies sell you 100Mbps connection, but not dedicated one.
Dedicated 100 Mbps connection will cost $200-300 per month at least.

Lol. I heard the same from a lots of people too. I just want to ask you guys expert here.

Thanks for you warning.

yes, 1and1 will shut you down without blinking. Try and go for a managed dedi if you can afford it if you are not comfortable managing one yourself.
