Thinking about starting a free membership site and would like some advice on getting new members to join. Site will be financial related and will be offering free advice?

first use an email extractor to target the business world I use the best email extractor it works wonders and its easy after i get my emails i just send them out saying check out this new site have you heard talk about something finical and sounds good. next i would use yahoo answer assault software to target finical questions being asked. and lastly i would start to tweet attack so that i make sure i start getting the followers i needed. those are your best bet to quickly market. I did not touch on using the power of face-book fan pages. but this method i started u off always works out nicely

Definitely will be creating a facebook fan page and had considered yahoo answers, but not the email extractor and tweet attack.
