[ASK] 1,572 Backlinks but 0 PR

One of my site has 1,572 backlinks under Google Webmaster Tool but I have zero PR.

While my other site had only 47 backlinks under Google Webmaster Tool but already have a PR 1.

Both of my sites were started three months back on the same week.

What possibly could be the reason? Any idea, anyone?

have you checked the quality of the websites, where your links were placed.

could be the majority of those links are nofollow as well as very low PRs (n/a to 1).

Yeah. All the backlinks are niche related. I mean SITE1's 47 backlinks are from the same niche as Site1 & SITE2's 1,572 backlinks are from the same niche as Site2. Both the site's backlinks are from .com domains. Not even a single .edu or .gov or anything.

Does it matter anymore? I thought nofollow/d0f0llow both backlinks are considered by Google. Am I wrong?

Hi .edu and .gov domains are valuable than .com domains. Further check the links are **************** and the page has any ranks.

Nofollow backlinks are not valued by google. Check the PR of your backlinks.

interesting. yeah, nofollow does matter, it almost completely devalues the page rank and authority that it passes.
also if you have links on a page that never gets crawled it won't effect your page rank.
also if the links are on the same domain each link passes less.
Also if the page it's on has 10million links on it you have to share the link juice with all 10million pages so you only get a small fraction.

Also if google has flagged your site or sandboxed it or whatever, it's probably going to have to be awhile. If you get that many links that quickly it's going to raise some redflags.
